By offering the choice of the mobile app and the self-service kiosk, guests staying at the Smoky Mountain Resorts can choose how and when they want to check-in and engage with the hotel, and even better, they can skip the lines at the front desk.

Zaplox ‘s solutions have been fully integrated with the hotel’s property management system, Maestro PMS from Northwind as well as with the lock systems from dormakaba and SALTO systems. Popular boutique hotel in Vienna renews the contract with Zaplox to meet the increasing demand for mobile check-in and mobile keys and other mobile guest services.

Zaplox AB, a developer of mobile guest journey software for hotels and casinos, announced it has signed an agreement to install Zaplox Kiosk at Hotel Dronningen, a hotel with 75 rooms in Kristiansand, Norway. The hotel, owned by Team Caledonien AS, wants to offer its guests the option to use self-service check-in and checkout.

The agreement is a result of Zaplox’s partnership with VisBook AS, the company behind of one the leading property management system (PMS) in Scandinavia. Hotel Dronningen will use Zaplox Kiosk for self-service check-in and checkout, which has been seamlessly integrated with hotel’s booking system from VisBook and lock system from ASSA ABLOY.

With Zaplox Kiosk, Hotel Dronningen will now be able to offer guests the convenience of self-service check-in and checkout as well as the option to pay for the hotel stay. Guests no longer have to wait in line at the front desk, but can use the Zaplox kiosk to check-in and get their room key.

With less pressure on the front desk, Hotel Dronningen can use staff resources more cost-efficiently and redirect staff to more revenue-generating tasks with greater impact in guest convenience and profitability.

Zaplox’s partnership with VisBook provides over 700 hotels using VisBook access to Zaplox’s customer friendly self-service kiosk solution. The integration with VisBook enables hotels to easily add kiosk functionality and offer guests other convenient services. Hotel Dronningen is the first VisBook user to install the Zaplox kiosk solution.

“We look forward to provide guests at Hotel Dronningen a smoother guest experience. This first installation is relatively small, but through the partnership, we ill get access to all VisBook users, including 700 hotels with a total of 70,000 rooms and our shared goal is to sign up 10 percent of them,” says Magnus Friberg, CEO of Zaplox.

VisBook will be selling Zaplox services directly to its affiliated hotels with support from Zaplox.

“If 10 percent of the VisBook hotels sign up for Zaplox Kiosk, the total value will be approximately SEK 3.5 million in recurring, annual revenue. Over time, the shared goal is significantly higher than 10 percent of the VisBook’s customer base, but no guarantees or commitments on volumes, or how fast this can happen have been given”, says Magnus Friberg, CEO of Zaplox.

Hotel Dronningen is a budget hotel, with 75 rooms located in Kristiansand, Norway. The hotel is owned by Team Caledonia, which is part of the chain Team Hotels AS, which has six hotels and about 495 rooms in Norway. Hotel Dronningen is just steps away from the famous fish market and guests at the hotel are welcome to the restaurant at the nearby Radisson Hotel Caledonien.

As a result of the upgrade to the new Zaplox Premium,  Schani Hotels will continue to offer guests a mobile guest journey without long check-in lines and with easier and more efficient key management. Guests can skip the lines at the front desk and go straight to their room and use their phone to unlock the door –with support for both Android and iOS phones. The upgrade to Zaplox Premium, also allows Schani Hotels to provide additional revenue-generating guest services.

The agreement includes Guldsmeden’s 12 hotels, which together comprise a total of 977 rooms in several countries. In the first phase, the Zaplox solution will be installed at six hotels, with a total of 753 rooms. Guldsmeden Hotels will use the Zaplox SDK to add mobile check-in and checkout, with mobile keys to the hotel’s mobile guest app. The solution will be fully integrated with Oracle Opera PMS and ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions locks.

The agreement includes all of Guldsmeden’s 12 hotels, and in the initial phase Zaplox will be deployed at six hotels, a total of 753 rooms; these include Axel Guldsmeden, Copenhagen (212 rooms); Babette Guldsmeden, Copenhagen (98 rooms); Manon les Suites, Copenhagen (87 rooms); Eyja Guldsmeden, Reykjavik (65 rooms); Lulu Guldsmeden, Berlin (81 rooms); and Bryggen Guldsmeden, Copenhagen (210 rooms), which is scheduled to open in mid-2019.

The Zaplox solution will enable Guldsmeden Hotels to offer guests a completely mobile guest journey, with mobile check-in and checkout and mobile keys that enable a guest to unlock the room door with his or her phone. Guests will be able to skip the lines at the front desk and go straight to their rooms. Digital keys allow the hotel to save money spent on plastic key cards and to benefit from more efficient handling of room keys, leaving more time for hotel staff to spend on revenue-generating guest services.

The contract with Guldsmeden Hotels includes approximately SEK 170,000 ($17,705) of nonrecurring revenue for the first six hotels in the first quarter of 2019 and approximately SEK 340,000 ($35,484) in nonrecurring revenue when the six remaining hotels start the installation of the system.

It is currently hard to predict when all 977 doors will be up and running, and there is no guaranteed volume or specified duration in the agreement. If the system remains active for at least seven years, which is the normal lifetime of the locks, it would translate into monthly revenue totaling approximately 3 million kronor ($313,095). However, no guarantees or commitments have been made regarding this.

Zaplox AB (publ) (“Zaplox”) today announces that Odense Sport & Event A/S has chosen Zaplox Mobile Kiosk to offer their guest the possibility to check in and check out, as well as creating their key card on their own at their arrival to brand new Hotel Odeon.

Odense Sport & Event A/S is a Danish company within the experience industry, also including Odense Congress Centre A/S. The agreement covers 234 hotel rooms in Hotel Odeon and the solution is planned to be launched in connection with the hotel opening during autumn 2018. The agreement, based on the integration to Picasso PMS*, is the second agreement in Zaplox partnership with Via Systems A/S since the partnership started in April 2018.

Odense Sport & Event A/S currently owns Odense Congress Centre with 107 rooms and the company is now building a new hotel, Hotel Odeon with 234 hotel rooms and is planned to open its doors during autumn 2018. Odense Sport & Event A/S have chosen Zaplox Mobile Kiosk to offer their guests the first step on a mobile guest journey. Zaplox Mobile Kiosk allows guests to check in by themselves using the kiosk located in the lobby or elsewhere at the hotel. At the Mobile Kiosk guests will also be able to activate the key card to their hotel room by as well as check out and pay for their stay.

By the time Hotel Odeon opens, all hotel rooms will have mobile enabled locks from Assa Abloy Hospitality which paves the way to offer the guests a complete mobile guest journey in the guest’s smartphone, in the future. Zaplox Mobile Kiosk will be integrated to the hotel lock system and PMS system. The agreement includes 234 hotel rooms and Zaplox Mobile Kiosk is planned to be available at Odense Sport & Event A/S’s hotel during autumn 2018.
