Zaplox, a market innovator of advanced mobile key services for the global hospitality industry, has recently signed an expanded agreement with SkiStar, a leading operator of Alpine ski resorts throughout Sweden, Norway and Austria. Under the newly expanded agreement which was signed in August, SkiStar properties that are equipped with digital key room access technology, will now be able to further enhance the guest experience by implementing the new Zaplox SDK solution and further customizing their proprietary mobile apps.

With a 42 percent market share, SkiStar is recognized as one of the largest operators of Alpine ski resorts in the Scandinavian region, with more than 6,500 cabins and apartments under its management. The group has been a Zaplox customer since 2011, the same year that Zaplox began making its solutions commercially available. Offering its innovative mobile key services primarily to the hospitality industry, Zaplox ensures that hotels and resorts have the ability to implement digital key convenience to meet evolving guest needs and expectations, while enhancing the property’s reputation and providing the ability to increase revenue. The new SDK solution, which was released in 2016, will give SkiStar the added ability to integrate their own resort mobile apps with Zaplox digital key technology. This innovative feature ensures that guests experience a simple and seamless mobile check-in, digital room key assignment and checkout process with the use of a single, comprehensive mobile app.

Magnus Friberg, CEO at Zaplox stated, “We are very happy that one of our first customers, SkiStar, has chosen to expand the cooperation between our two organizations and that they appreciate the many possibilities that our new solutions have to offer. Their confidence in Zaplox is proof of a thriving business cooperation that has developed over time, and it also shows that we are providing solutions that create value for both SkiStar and their guests.”

In addition to providing enhanced guest and staff convenience, the SDK solution also allows properties to enhance their own mobile apps to make them more enticing and robust, and to serve as a means of direct communication with guests. Digital key functionality allows guests to skip front desk lines and instead go directly to their assigned guestrooms, providing an immediate and practical value that greatly increases the chances of the app being downloaded onto guests’ personal smart devices. This in turn increases the possibility that guests will be exposed to and interact with other services or promotions included on a property’s app, ultimately enhancing the ability to grow additional revenue.

The Zaplox mobile key solution offers great convenience to the residents of One Palm, a multifamily residential high-rise apartment community, by providing a personalized apartment- entry option. It also opens up opportunities for proactive communication throughout the lease term. The solution has been installed at One Palm in cooperation with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, a leading provider of electronic door locks for the hospitality industry.

Magnus Friberg, CEO of Zaplox, comments, “We integrated our solution with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality locks in 2015, and we continue to work closely with them to offer complete mobile key solutions to our clients around the globe. We are, of course, very pleased by the fact that we are now closing one of the agreements that we initiated in conjunction with them.”

ASSA ABLOY Hospitality works continuously to bring the latest technologies and upgrades to its customers to meet the ever-evolving demands and needs from today’s travelers and hotel guests. The progression of mobile key technology solutions are an important component in this process of advanced digitalization.

One Palm is managed by RAM Partners LLC., a full-service real estate management firm that manages 32,000 apartments throughout the U.S. Vicky Iglesias, Property Manager at One Palm, comments on the installed solution, saying, “We see great possibilities for taking care of our guests and exceeding their expectations, since we can proactively use the app to communicate our services. This will make their everyday life at the property more smooth and comfortable.”

Zaplox offers mobile key services primarily to the hospitality industry and the solutions have been in commercial use since 2011.

“We are well prepared for the ongoing digitalization in the hotel industry with integrations in place, and with an expertise in smart and efficient mobile key services adapted to different customer needs,” concluded Friberg.

Zaplox has signed an agreement with a major Danish hotel chain with hotels at premium locations. The agreement is the first of its kind, since it includes both a solution for mobile check-in and mobile keys, and a solution for check-in at so called virtual kiosks in the reception. Zaplox, a global provider of advanced mobile key services for the hospitality industry, announces the release of version 3.0 of its industry leading Mobile Key Services solution, which incorporates several innovative new functions that have the potential to revolutionize the guest experience, while maximizing property efficiency and profitability. Currently boasting the most mobile key integrations in the hospitality market worldwide, Zaplox Mobile Key Services present hoteliers with a true turnkey platform that is fully compatible with most major locking system providers’ mobile solutions, including ASSA ABLOY Mobile Access, Salto Systems and Kaba Mobile Access. The latest release of Zaplox Mobile Key Services now provides hotels and resorts with a comprehensive, integrated and scalable solution that is fully able to address the mobile key service needs of any property.

Zaplox Mobile Key Services consist of an easily downloadable mobile key app that is compatible with all major smartphone platforms; an administration portal from which a hotel can manage the complete guest experience within the app; and integrations provided for all major hotel lock providers and PMS systems.

Magnus Friberg, Zaplox’ CEO, highlights the major customer benefits of the new features and functions that have been added to the latest update, saying, “We are proud to present the hotel industry with a mobile key solution that is completely streamlined and able to manage customized branding, customized guest experiences and customized offers. This means that a hotel can tailor the guest experience using all the necessary features for a smooth booking, check-in and check-out experience, while also providing promotional offers at the right time and at the right place.”

The new version also provides tools to enhance loyalty and increase the potential for re-booking. Once installed, a hotel can manage much of this functionality through the administration portal, which gives the hotel the freedom to change and test offers for their guests, and optimize the experience of their hotel stay.

“The main strength of the system is the possibility to create a personalized and adaptive guest experience,” continues Friberg. “A hotel will, for example, know the most suitable amenities to offer guests before check-in, two hours after check-in, and then after several days stay. All functions are tied to the mobile key, which creates a high degree of usage and increases the likelihood of guest interaction with promotional messaging efforts.”

With recent industry research indicating that more than 70 percent of travelers would opt to use their smartphones as a check-in alternative, the mobile phone serves as a key to unlocking the future of guest satisfaction. Underlining the importance of the new system with regard to further boosting mobile key’s popularity, Friberg concludes, “Zaplox has more customers and hotel chains actively using a mobile key solution then anyone else in the mobile key services industry, and we have seen the demands of customers evolve over time. Our new version of Mobile Key Services is a direct answer to feedback observed with ongoing customer needs, and is based on the expertise that we have acquired over time by providing our system to hotel chains and holiday dwellings around the world. Mobile Keys make the hotel stay experience easy for guests, while simultaneously creating a powerful communication channel for hoteliers. We have now released Mobile Keys with a robust guest interface that makes it even easier and more intuitive to use, along with tools that a hotel can use to maximize revenue streams. Our next step is to roll out 3.0 to existing customers, and then offer this solution to new and potential customers, starting in Europe and North America.”
